Day 8

Genesis 25:1-4,1 Chronicles1:32-33, Genesis 25:5-6,12-18, 1 Chronicles1:28-341,34 Genesis 25:19-26, 7-11

Division… have you ever been a part of any type of division? Like one church divided and becomes two? I really don’t like it when I have to divide my desert into 4 pieces for my family to share. Haha! What we see here is much larger than dividing a desert. We see that within one family and two generations that there are 2 divisions Abraham had a son, Ishmael, through a concubine his descendants became a great nation. Abraham had another son, Isaac, with his wife Sarah, which is the line that God has promised to have descendants as many as stars in the sky and the lineage of who? You guessed it, King David and…..  Now we see Isaac having twins with his wife Rebekah, and in Genesis 25:22 we see Rebekah asking about the internal struggle she is feeling with the two babies inside her, in verse 23 we see the Lords answer.

“And the Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided, the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.” Genesis 25:23

Other notable items in this set of scripture. Was Sarah able to give birth to a baby easily? How about Rebekah? Seems that both of those women were pretty hard pressed to have children. But it is nothing that the Lord can not fix! It seems that God doesn’t always choose the easy path for the people he is going to use for amazing things. He will use the most unlikely, unassuming, people and circumstances for his Glory and purpose. With being used is a time of waiting as seen in this scenario, there are years and years of waiting.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Are you in a stall pattern waiting for an answer from God? Are you in a valley waiting for God to use you for his glory and purpose?
