Wise men still seek Him…

Wise men still seek Him…

I was driving down the road the other day and a church had the cliché sign in front and it said “Wise Men still Seek Him”

Yeah it is christmas time and it fits in properly for the season but I think it really fits 365 days a year.

Think about it, Wise men still seek him…..

I was intrigued by this sign. It sparked something inside me, this statement is pretty Wise. (hahahaha the wise men were seeking Jesus after he was born, being guided by a star)

Jeremiah 29:13 ESV

[13] You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Zephaniah 2:3 ESV

[3]  Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord.

Luke 12:31 ESV

[31] Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:33 ESV

[33] But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Colossians 3:1 ESV

[1]  If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

These are only a few of the seek statements that are found throughout the bible. This confirms that we should always be seeking The Lord in everything we do, everything we say, and realistically everything that we think about. Now as men this can be hard to do, we are at work conquering the work space that we are in. Delegating jobs, making deals, trying our best to provide for our family’s monetarily.

What happens if we allow Jesus into our work space? Will our work become easier? Will there be less issues? Well,  the sad thing is the answer is no. But I truly believe that if our hearts are in the right spot, constantly seeking Jesus, we will be able to handle the hard situations better. We will be able to remain calm when the storms hit.

If we spend our time seeking Jesus we will be drawing near to Jesus. We will be walking closer and closer to him. It says in Hebrews 10:22

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

If I seek Jesus, I will draw near to Jesus, if I draw near to Jesus, my heart will be surrendered to Jesus. My mind will be sifted of evil thoughts, my heart will be cleansed.

Let me pose this question. Is this a one time deal? Absolutely not!

I must Seek Jesus daily

I must Draw near to Jesus daily

I must Surrender my heart to Jesus daily
