Day 15

Genesis 40:1-41:57

Have you ever been in a job where it just seemed like you were not getting anywhere? You were not being used to your full capacity? So much so that it seemed pointless to even keep working? Then out of nowhere you see the light at the end of the tunnel, a promotion on the horizon. God has been using you the entire time, building you up, teaching you perseverance, laying the groundwork to move ahead and do amazing things. God is constantly working behind the scenes. We may feel stuck in many different ways and areas in our lives. But have faith that God is working. He is working in you and around you. He is setting you up for something great, something more. You just have to remain faithful. 

Joseph is the youngest son of Jacob, his brothers didn’t like him because he was the favorite. They end up selling him into slavery in Egypt. Through promotions and demotions out of his control, from being a leader to imprisonment. Joseph was always intraing. The Lord was constantly with him building him up for something great. Joseph ends up being in charge of all the land of Egypt, second in command under Pharaoh. 

Can you imagine going from prison to second in command of  a country? In today’s world that would be like prison to vice president in the blink of an eye. As Joseph enters this high position he begins managing all of the grain crops, storing all of and collecting from other farmers to store in preparation for a famine that God has shown him is going to happen. He stores so much that they stop keeping track of it because there is too much….. From a hole in the ground to being sold into slavery to working under Potiphar, to prison, to second in command in Egypt, GOd has been with Joseph the entire time. 

Even when we are down and feel like we are out we must remain diligent and know that the Lord is doing something behind the scenes he is building us up for something great.
