Day 16

Genesis 42:1-45:15

Have you ever been hurt or betrayed? Maybe you were the one that betrayed someone? Joseph is now in a position where he has to face the brothers that betrayed him. He has a choice to make, Does he forgive and move on? Or does he hold on to the pain of betrayal and become bitter and hostile? Joseph chooses the first, Forgiveness.

This is a great representation of how we should forgive others. Joseph forgives and then gives. He is overcome with great joy when he sees his brothers.

Then Joseph hurried out, for his compassion grew warm for his brother, and he sought a place to weep. And he entered his chamber and wept there.” Genesis 43:30

Is it easy to forgive? Is it easy to forgive even if our offenders don’t apologize for their wrong doing? Jesus forgives us of our sins daily.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,  but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mathew 6:14-15
“For God so loved the world,  that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17
