Job 5:1-7:21
Job oh Job….. Every party has a party pooper. Why is it that when things are not going well for us that we begin to feel bad for ourselves. We start questioning our existence? We start wondering why is this happening to me? If I follow God, why am I being “punished”? And that is where the tide shifts.
Why am I being punished? Am I being punished? Am I being tested? Why would I be tested? What have I done? Common questions we ask when we are questioning ourselves. Job questions his existence, he questions why he is on the world. Through all of his questioning he never questions or curses God.
When guys are in a community with other God fearing guys we are more likely to see that we are in a valley and that God will use that valley for his benefit. We may be hurting, we may be miserable, he will use every circumstance for his glory.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4
