Exodus 1:1-4:17; 1 Chron. 6:1-3a
Not sure where it came from but someone once told me Make a Plan, Keep the Plan, Work the Plan, Complete the Plan.
God has made a plan for the Israelites. He has kept the plan for the Israelites and he is working the plan with the Israelites. God told Abraham years and years before that he would have more descendants than stars in the skies. God is fulfilling this in Exodus.
“Then Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation. But the people of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.” Exodus 1:6-7
The beginning of a period of slavery is coming for the Israelites because of their multiplication, and the changing of a new king in Egypt. This would be the starting point of 400 years of slavery and that there would be a deliverer someone that would bring the Israelities out of slavery. Moses would be the man, oh and his brother Aaron.
Moses joins the club of Guys the Lord has appeared to. There are not too many Guys in that group. God tells Moses to go to Pharaoh, and ask that the Isralites can travel three days away and give sacrifices. Moses pleads with the Lord….
“But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” Exodus 4:10
Bottom line. The Lord will use who he wants when he wants and it is all part of his plan. The plan that he has made, the plan that he will keep, the plan he is working and the plan that he will complete.
